I grew up in Klamath Falls, Oregon, so I have always had a love for this area. My family moved to Happy Camp, California when I was in high school. After high school, I went to work in the woods setting chokers. I am very proud that I can say I used to be a logger…I started college in 1984 at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA. I finished my undergraduate work at CSU, Sacramento. I then attended medical school in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated in 1996. I have done a lot of emergency medicine, but I am board certified in family practice. I enjoy family practice because of all the diversity, and I love doing house calls. I love this area. My wife and I currently have a small off the grid homestead on the Nevada side of Surprise Valley. I like to help out on friends ranches during branding and haying time. I like to play old time and country music.
