Your Health Home in Rural Northeastern California

Management: Dave Jones

Dave Jones, CEO Emeritus

Dave Jones has served as chief executive officer of what is now Mountain Valleys Health Centers since 1987. He was originally hired by Big Valley Medical Services, Inc., in Bieber. Big Valley merged with the Butte Valley/Tulelake Rural Health Project in 2001 and changed its name to Mountain Valleys Health Centers. The private practice group known as Intermountain Family Practice was added in 2002, bringing the corporation to a total of eight sites. Mountain Valleys Health Centers is the only provider of primary care for an area of about 7,000 square miles in northeastern California.

Prior to accepting this position, Dave served for 20 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Coast Guard. He grew up in the Yakima Valley of Washington state as a farm worker, so he has a soft spot in his heart for those hardworking individuals who don’t get paid much and are often uninsured.

Dave stays active in healthcare-related issues locally and throughout the state. He is a two-time president and founding board member of both the California State Rural Health Association (CSRHA) and the Health Alliance of Northern California.
